Our weekends started off by leaving Waterville Friday afternoon, thankfully Josh was able to get off a couple hours early so he could get some rest on Friday night before heading out early Saturday morning to begin his 204 mile bike ride to Portland. Yes, this was the weekend of the STP. Josh, Ben, Forrest, Kate, Holly and Holly's friend Amanda joined over 9,000 others riding their bikes from Seattle to Portland. Beware there are a lot of pictures of the ride below but I just couldn't help sharing them with you all because I am just so proud of them all.
The Night Before
The morning of Day #1
Holly and Amanda were the first to head out Saturday morning. They met up with a group from the cycling club that they got associated with when they lived in Yakima.
The next group to take off. Josh and Ben rode together most of the day, while Forrest and Kate enjoyed some good bonding time.
I met Holly in Spanaway on day one. This was mile 53 and she still had a smile on her face. Right before this was "The Hill" we had all heard that there was only one major hill along the route. Holly informed me later that is not true!
Josh heading into Kelso on Day 2.

I met Forrest and Kate in Centralia this is the half way mark and many stop and camp here and do the next 100 miles the next day. Our crew decided to get the majority of the ride over with on day one and went 120 miles on Saturday which only left 84 for Sunday.
Night #1
Bethany and I hauled the riders back to Tenino on Saturday night so they could have a good meal and a comfortable place to sleep before they got up and did it again.

Everyone had there problem areas. Some complained of their seat, Kate's problem was her hands. Good thing Forrest held the solution to helping her feel better.
THE FINISH!!
Holly and Amanda. They met in Dental Hygiene school, now they have finished another life milestone to bond them together.
Josh taking a well deserved nap back in Tenino, while I finished homework before we headed back to Waterville.
We left mom and Dad's house at 5:00 a.m. on Sunday to shuttle the riders back to Winlock to start Day #2. Here is Dad fulfilling one of his father of the bride jobs. The big day for the Beebs is in less than 2 weeks. We will keep you posted on the updates.
Saturday after I met the riders in Spanaway I headed out to Tara's bridal shower in Montesano. Tara and Eric's wedding is in September. I didn't get any pictures at the shower, but here is a picture of Tara and I on my wedding day (hard to believe it was almost 4 years ago).
